Executive Global Coaching
Inclusive Leadership in the era of AI

What we do

-
At Executive Global Coaching we help leaders build inclusive teams that are underpinned by Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Cultural Intelligence (CQ), and Diversity Intelligence (DQ)
-
Inclusive leadership & teams are essential skills & attributes in the era of AI, the failure of which could see organisations unable to perform to their full capabilities & values
-
Building AI through the lens of inclusion requires AI developers and deployers to consider all aspects of AI: the good (increases in productivity, clinical breakthroughs); the bad (consumption of unprecedented amounts of compute, data, energy, and water); and the ugly (humans in the global south cleaning up data for AI usage in the global north with little consideration for their wellbeing, online safety, deepfakes, cyber security risks).
-
Fostering diverse perspectives and expertise in the development, training, and application of LLMs and other AI models ensures AI tools used are ethical, fair, inclusive and aligned with the values and needs of different stakeholders, cultural contexts, and the environment.
How we do it
The EQ+CQ=DQ Framework
- At Executive Global Coaching we are dedicated to providing specialised coaching in Inclusive Leadership & human-centred AI using our EQ+CQ=DQ methodology.
- Our goal is to assist leaders and organisations in fostering more inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplaces by first building and enhancing Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Cultural Intelligence (CQ), as the essential building blocks to Diversity Intelligence (DQ).
- Building and/or deploying Human-centred AI begins with leaders who lead with EQ, CQ and DQ, fundamental pillars for Inclusive AI.
- We guide leaders in managing the complexities of diverse teams, fostering strong cross-cultural relationships, and improving organisational culture through empathy, respect, and collaboration, a vital foundation for Inclusive Leadership in the era of AI

The link between Human and AI inclusion
Why Inclusion starts at the top with
LEADERSHIP

-
Leadership behaviour and actions significantly shape office culture, with employees drawing cues from above
-
Regardless of whether the workforce operates within a physical office, remotely, or in a hybrid or distributed model, leaders must be mindful of how their behaviour, language, actions, and expressions influence their workforce's perception of what is or isn't acceptable workplace conduct or performance for both humans and AI
-
Leaders equipped with a blend of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Cultural Intelligence (CQ) play a very important role in fostering inclusive work environments. This lays a solid foundation for cultivating and integrating 'Inclusive human-centred AI' into all aspects of their organisation
Inclusive Leadership calls for ...
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
(EQ)
A leader with high EQ has the ability to suspend judgement, is able to 'read the room', understand what makes us human and, at the same time, what makes each of us different from one another. An EQ led leader will not hesitate to invite feedback on creating a culture of inclusion while making it clear to their team that their honesty will not impact their job. EQ led leaders are sensitive to global movements of socio-economic & racial equality and are aware that their language, tone, actions, in-actions, and expressions have an impact on team morale & culture. EQ leaders want to ensure that the AI they develop and/or deploy, reflects the values of their team and organisation.
ON HIRING – EQ leaders do not rely on intuition and/or 'gut feelings'. Their empathy enables them to understand why people behave the way they do.

CULTURAL INTELLIGENCE
(CQ)
A leader with high CQ has the ability to behave in a manner that is consistent with the behaviour of those around them, irrespective of culture or setting. CQ includes developing skills such as active listening, empathy, flexibility, as well as knowledge of different cultures and their practices. CQ leaders are able to understand whether unfamiliar and ambiguous behaviour stems from personal idiosyncrasies or, is influenced by cultural factors - they do not rely on stereotypes. CQ leaders want to ensure that the AI they develop and/or deploy, reflects the cultures of their team, organisation, customers and other stakeholders.
ON HIRING – CQ leaders do not rely on 'Culture Fit' - they see differences as an opportunity to learn a well as to expand their customer and employee base.
DIVERSITY INTELLIGENCE
(DQ)
A leader with high DQ is inclusive and knows that diversity shouldn't be viewed as a problem to be solved but rather, an opportunity to be capitalised on. A leader with high DQ knows that just because they have a diverse workforce this, in of itself, does not automatically guarantee inclusion. A DQ leader is able to adapt and adjust their behaviour and communication style to effectively interact with people who are different, while also respecting their beliefs, values and lived experiences. DQ leaders also know and understand that exclusive environments and behaviours have been built over many years and as such, inclusion itself will take time to filter through the organisation. While this may be challenging, DQ leaders are acutely aware that forsaking their Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) initiatives could jeopardise their organisation's standing in an evolving landscape including fast changing markets & demographics.
ON HIRING – DQ leaders do not rely on 'similar-to-me' affinity bias. They lead multi-generational as well as multi-cultural teams and understand that many of their customers and employees are demanding change and representation. As such, they know & understand that in order to remain relevant, their leadership bench must also reflect their stakeholders.
