NEGOTIATION SKILLS
£ 800 [4 hrs]
Whether it’s in our personal or professional lives, negotiation is a vital part of life which is why approaching negotiation as if it’s a power struggle will rarely win over the other side.
Instead, be less combative, disagree without coming across as disagreeable and approach negotiations in a cool and calm manner; tackling the other party’s concerns before they do.
-
One of the greatest skills that top negotiators have is the art of listening. Negotiations can sometimes be highly charged and so actively listening and slowing down the conversation can cool temperatures (should things ever become heated), because listening shows the other party that they are being heard.
-
When it comes to salary negotiation(s), don’t make the mistake, as many candidates often do, of focusing solely on base salary and not the overall package. Learn about all the elements that make up your full compensation package and negotiate accordingly. In addition, bear in mind that you cannot rely on your employer/future employer to benchmark your salary - you have to do this yourself.
-
This course will prepare you for interview negotiations or other stressful situations. Depending on your personality type, we will devise strategies that you're comfortable with, thus making it easier for you to negotiate with more confidence, resist being bluffed or anchored, and react calmly even when the other side is ripping you apart.
